Dante Grela is a composer of music, university professor and researcher born in Rosario (Santa Fe), Argentina, in 1941. He is the author of several works on pedagogy of composition, analysis and orchestration, as well as on contemporary musical creation of Latinamerica. In the field of music research, he has directed projects particularly dedicated to the study of Latin American production of the XX and XXI centuries, residing in the Instituto Superior de Música de la Universidad nacional del Litoral.

Composer and guest lecturer at several Contemporary Music Festivals in Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Uruguay, Chile, El Salvador, Canada and the United States, having given a large number of courses and lectures on composition, analysis, techniques and aesthetics of music contemporary and musical creation of Latin America. He has regularly directed diverse ensembles dedicated to the interpretation and diffusion of the music of S. XX.

As a composer, his works have received awards on several occasions, as well as numerous premieres in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, U.S.A., Venezuela, Spain, Canada, El Salvador, Germany and Uruguay. His production includes works for solo instruments, chamber music and symphony, electroacoustic music and mixed compositions (for instrumental sound sources and electronic sounds).

Music and Machine Learning Concert

In the frame of the 10th International Workshop on Machine Learning and Music, the researchers of TELMI (Technology Enhanced Learning of Musical Instrument Performance) project will perform a concert/ demo where some prototypes developed in the project will be shown.

TELMI is a project that arises from the need to facilitate the learning process of a musical instrument, avoiding abandonment and frustration. The project involves institutions from different fields with the main objective of creating a unified system that uses advanced audio, video and motion capture technologies to be able to adapt it to different musicians, levels and learning situations. This system will help musicians to take full advantage of their lessons and practices, reduce injuries and inefficiency, expand their access to communities of musical knowledge and become better performers.

Phonos hosts again Vocal Vertebra, an event that, under the label of experimental poetry, invites the audience to the sound and visual exploration of gestures, accents, sounds and movements of the performance.

Vocal Vertebra was created in 2014 in London as part of experimental poetry workshop Writers Forum initiated by Bob Cobbing at Goldsmiths College. This is the first event outside London.
